F1 is not boring its the complete opposite. But the difference is that F1 requires some knowledge before watching the season, By The Way you have to watch the whole season to know what is going on in the sport starting from the drivers, gossip, teams, and the competition itself.
Whats interesting about F1 is that it is a sport that needs a special driver who has a special talent not as NASCAR, which does not need a driver who has that special thing. having the ability to keep the car going for the whole race, avoiding crashing and competing for tenths of seconds including the ability to help the team in the race strategy, and the thrill of over taking is a total excitement in F1.
F1 is not about cars racing on a track but it is about a bunch of issues discussed above which affect the sport and it adds to the excitement.
In nascar all they do is drive in circles in america… whilst in F1 they have lots of different tracks all around the world
f1 is much better, in my opinion. isn’t nascar in one direction? besides, f1 has twists and turns and inclines too! lots of overtaking (but it’s harder now).
F1 is way better than NASCAR cause those drivers understand how to turn right and pass without just running into the person in front of them. If you have ever watched a F1 race on tv those fans are more excited than the hicks who go to the nascar events
It looks to me like you have two points. As to the first – - yes, there is not as much “entertainment” in F1; but I’d advocate that it’s a little like the difference between an Olympic wrestling bout and the World Wrestling Federation. One is for real and the other . . . .isn’t.
As to NASCAR fans being “one big happy family”; again, NASCAR is more of a light hearted afternoon drive for the good ‘ole boys; F1 is the equivalent of automotive war. The sarcasm comes from the higher IQs
F1 is boring because the cars get strung out on wide tracks layed out on prairies. Leaving the track carries little risk (other than bogging down). After all, without risk, we all could be race drivers.
NASCAR fans are pretty happy together, but many aren’t about NASCAR itself. The racing is getting more boring every year. The corporate suits are ruining NASCAR, but the fans won’t realize it for another twenty years. Fans care about NASCAR, NASCAR cares about NA$CAR.
Well it may seem boring to a person who has only watched Nascar all there life and has only seen a little bit of F1. In Nascar all they do is drive around ovals and crash into eachother. Wereas F1 you have cars going at much faster speeds and go around tracks not ovals and the overtaking is just breathtaking. I mean it may seem boring when you first watch F1 but when you start to understand the sport a bit more it seems like a very interesting form of Motor racing. Its actually classed as the highest form of motor racing because of the complexcities of the cars and the physical demands to drive a Formula1 car.
I have a feeling u don’t watch F1 that often do u? u mean to tell us that seeing a bunch of guys in worthless cars going around in circles for over 100 laps is more interesting than seeing high technology cars driven by men from around the world in some of the most exciting circuits in the most beautiful countries?! I don’t think so! F1 fans as far as I’m concerned are not sarcastic at all! I know alot of F1 fans and even though we have different opinions on whatever the topic may be, we respect the hell out of each other! Before u judge F1 fans, I would suggest speaking to the fans for a while and get to know them! I’m sure u would change your mind about us!
Its because F1 is so hard to overtake in. The only excitement you get in Formula One is when someone ecrashes.
In NASCAR, there is overtaking throughout the whole field, but in F1, your lucky to see a pass on track every ten laps.
F1 needs to change its rules to make the races more exciting.
F1 requires an understanding & knowledge that means you have to be prepared to do ur ‘homework’ to understand. Because of this anyone, not just americans) who hasn’t done their homework will find it boring. Unfortunately F1 cars rely too much on aero dynamic grip on there cars so you can’t follow the car in front as close as you can in NASCAR or IRL. They need to go back to mechanical grip (wider tyres) & reduce size of front & rear wings.
For me (NZer) NASCAR is boring coz they only go round in circles except 2 or 3 tracks. Driving on a proper circuit is were the true test is. If NSACAR did it all on proper circuits then I would believe that it would be a serious contender with F1 on world stage. Right now V8 supercars (australia & nz) are better than NASCAR
Only missed one F1 race in 18 years, but I’ve got to admit, I’m very worried by the start of season 2010. 4 world champions, at least 4 front-running teams, and we end up with a boring procession where the only real action in the last 20 laps came from three cars passing a slightly crippled Red Bull. The drivers didn’t push too hard at the start because the cars were heavy and they needed to conserve their tyres. They didn’t push at the end because they needed to conserve their fuel and tyres.
I fully agree that F1 beats NASCAR hands down, but I hope that yesterday’s boring season opener was due to the Bahrain circuit, and not something inherent in the 2010 rules
