It has to be Monaco. That’s the place where the great Jenson Button shines like the moon and the stars! VIVA FORMULA BUTTON.
You can’t block the Button… he is the eternal bets!
The first race is always good, especially this year after all the changes to the rules. Seeing if teams perform as well in a real race as they do in offseason testing is always something I look forward to. I also like Monaco for the same reasons you said, Spa because it’s a great track and Silverstone because the British fans are awesome and because of it’s history. Canada was also pretty good as something unusual and unexpected would always occur during canadian races.
hungary. spa always has exciting races.
I agree with GATORADE, after a long winter speculating, Melbourne is probably the most anticipated. The actual track I most look forward to is Spa, defiantly the biggest single driver test left on the circuit. Suzuka used to be the years highlight for me, but sadly it was too good for Bernie’s liking…
Can’t believe regulars haven’t blocked said nucance yet, just leave him and his irritating questions to himself.
While anticipated, the first race is usually an attrition venture. All the shortcoming of post season testing is brought out and nothing really happens in the end of the race. I mean, no credible contender emerges or no one is quite sure how it will be in a few months time.
Post mid-season works for me, the engineering is more evolved, the drivers used to the new rides and there is a championship to be lost!
I like San Marino, mostly because I am pro-Ferrari and I love to see the sea of scarlet in the grand stands.
The Season opener in Melbourne. All the build up. I go there every year. I sit about 20 metres from the start-finish line (same seat every year). My whole year revolves around that weekend.
Spa
It does not get any better then Spa
Last years race was one of the best I have ever seen…
…until the stewards screwed it up
Spa. nothing else.
the most historic, the fastest, the most challenging circuit on the planet (after the old nurburgring).
monaco is just a showcase event. isn’t a true enthusiast’s circuit. but you can’t imagine F1 without it that’s what makes it so intresting. if it wasn’t on the calender, and someone said “let’s have a race in monaco” he would have been considered a Psycho!
the only track that comes to my mind that’s as special as Spa is Monza.
I’d say Monaco. Tight narrow circuit and drivers have to really concentrate or say hello to the wall and a DNF. Apart from that, it’s really unpredictable so that adds to the fun factor
Other than taht Suzuka, Japan. ALways provides us with awesome racing
Monaco because it is the biggest and best race of the season. Plus with the Indianapolis 500 on the same day, it provides a great day of racing.
I am going to really miss the Canadian Grand Prix this season. Montreal has such a great track.
Monaco.
The race itself is rarely memorable but still it’s the one I look forward to the most.
I find the build up to the GP and the images relaxing.
On the other hand what I don’t look forward to while I probably should is rain in every GP.
Rain messes up with people and machinery, cornering forces and lap times.
And women are less sexy in raincoats.
Still ,every time we got that the race was exciting, some times even too much.
I always thought Monaco was the most anticipated and prestigious…until I went there for a Grand Prix, and the expectations were probably too high. Although I cannot deny the uniqueness, the actual premise of F1 is a little overstated in Monaco. Yes, the walls, the guardrails, the concentration, etc., but I like speed, g forces and F1 tracks meant for fast cars.
With the premise that Spa is my second favorite, what I look forward the most is Monza. For several reasons: It takes place always at the beginning of September, and that’s when announcements of new drivers lineups or changes for the next season usually take place. That’s when the championship is in a critical stage, where results are decisive for the titles. That’s where the speed is at its highest. That’s where you are in an atmosphere surrounded by history (Monza has been in the calendar since F1 inception in 1950). That’s where the passionate Italian fans make their display of support to Ferrari, and that is overwhelmingly unique – and red (especially after San Marino was dropped from the calendar). And lastly, it always takes place on or about my birthday, so I have always hoped someone would give me a birthday present and buy me a ticket …..wishful thinking, but one day……………………..
