If you only want to go racing for the money, forget it. You’ll get chewed up and spit out. To become an F1 driver you need to move to Europe if you’re not already there, win a Formula Ford championship, win a F3000 or a Formula Renault championship, and then maybe someone might hire you to test a F1 car. Don’t count on all that happening if you have no racing skill right now.
You don’t need to go to Europe. Every country just about has it’s own Formula Ford kinda thing. Most people start through carts or that, the work their way up to F3000, GP2 etc. You need motivation and you need SKILL. Skill is the most important thing. If you haven’t got skill you won’t even make Formula Ford.
If you haven’t started yet, it’s too late. There are 20 spots plus team test drivers so your chance of getting an F1 seat is almost nil.
You’d have a better chance of getting into the IRL, Nascar, IMSA, or SCCA.
If you want to go road racing, go with SCCA. They have amateur classes and you can move up from there.
Oval tracks are what you find in Nascar and there are a lot of communities that have tracks. Find out where the nearest one is and get a copy of their rules.
I can tell you from experience, it’s not a cheap proposition either way.
ITS NEVER TO LATE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
look at tiago monteiro he started karting at the age of 21 and look where he ended up f1.
you just have to move up the ranks
FORMULA RENULT
f3
gp2
f1
dont think its that easy its hard enough just to win the renult series or to get in the f3 but NEVER GIVE UP !!!!!!!!
man it all about Talent and being fast that’s the formula just don’t give up i watch f1 for 14 years too and i go kart f since i was 6 but still no chance being arabian so it’s SO much depend on ur country and the chances u got there but believe me if u Finnish ur chances will be good they say in f1 world (if u want to finish get Finnish
but start with this steps it might help
1 . formula1 renault or small car or course so u get ur sport license
2. formula for then u start applying what u learned
3. gp3
then super license
gp2 or GP1
but te bad news as i said (TALENT) cuz if u not u need to practice and that mean tooooooooooooooooooooooooooo much money
wish u all the best .
dude face it u can never become a racer i think that i m much faster then u in go-carts
