Race. Alot…. Why do people always ask these types of questions?
Almost all F1 drivers started with Go Carts So get on it.
Most of those guys started in professional go karting, maybe give that a try. Heaps fun and a lot cheaper to get into.
For starters, go to an amusement go-kart track and see if you are upto it. Does it scare you when going flat out? If yes, forget racing and do something else.
Else,
Enroll yourself into recognized local go-karting competitions and race. See where you stand after a few rounds. Are you winning, or are you close to winning? No, then forget racing and do something else.
To become like Kimi, you either need to be super talented or super rich. If you have the talent, people will notice you and sponsorship will come. If you are super rich, sponsorship isn’t a problem, so buy yourself a seat at a decent team in a lower formulae and work your way up. Either ways, you first need to check out to see if you have the minimum talent to go racing.
Here is the procedure:
You should start from Go-kart at early age, and you must win.
Then join GP2 and win again.
After that, wait for sometime, Ron Dennis might call you and hire you as F1 driver. (LOL)
I`ve got a 100% working idea.
Watch F1 races , play F1 video games and think about Formula 1 the whole day. When you fall asleep , you`ll be racing in your dream.
Well kimis career was very simple really. He go-karted for a few years and then went to formula renault he was recognized as great talent and the next year he was in f1. the only f1 driver in history to have such a short time of racing before f1.
You must start early! 7 years of age. Defintley. The more experience the better. I do karting in West of scotland club championships. Try doing national championships when you have experience and try and get some sponsorship. You must be determined. Dont race until your fast and you can take people buy suprise. Make yourself be noticed! You also must be very fit. Almost every F1 driver has previsouly done
Karting Ages
Forumla BMW/Renualt/Ford
Formula Three
GP2
Or test driving.
Win a go cart series, by beating a load of 6 year olds, then win the lottery and blow it by getting a formula Renault drive, if your not doing well at it chat up Flavio Briatore and become his bitch, he may get you a GP2 drive. After you’ve failed at that for a couple of years beg Flavio to be a Renault test driver in their F1 team, then hope that you can nick a super licence from one of the other test drivers and glue your pic over the top. If Flavio is too busy to give you a debut race after all that, spend the couple of hundred thousand you’ve got left, on a Super Aguri drive, they are so desperate for cash, they will bite your hand off…………
You want to be like Kimi?
Ok turn your heating down. Way down. Put ice cubes down the front of your pants. Yes, you may feel like passing out after awhile but stay focused. Channel the Ice Man Within.
Next get rid of all entertainment from your surroundings. Have no hobbies, no girlfriends, no friends….only cars. Cars and ice. This is all Kimi is interested in. You have seen the post-race interviews. Cars and ice. Nothing else should be apart of your life.
There are many other feats of strength you must perform before you can truly become Master of the Ice, grasshopper…this should get you started on the right Path.
