The thing is, in 2010, he has the most fierce competition in any one season, than he’s ever had. With no disrespect, even in seasons where the Ferrari wasn’t the best, he still had an obliging teammate, and only(I say only)either Mika, JV, or hill to compete with.

@steveninthematrix – mate my thoughts exactly! We are yet to see the full speed and potential of Michael Schumacher’s comeback. The guy is a complete professional and still has the pace to win! That is not to say I haven’t been surprised by the advantage Nico has gained over him so far. Very impressive. (Pep)

@F1Podcast – @F1Podcast – pep, barrichello still has his good pace, and he’s almost as old as michael…. age isnt the issue; the narrow hard crap front tires are totally opposite to what michael had for 15 years….. , and with almost no testing, its very difficult.

with pirelli coming, i expect a big turn around; that being said, with mclaren and ferrari spending more than merc, i dont see how merc are going to leapfrog them and adrian newey’s genius

Lot of people on here talking, but not seeing much I agree with I have to say. This year? Yes, well out of it. But that car was set up & designed for Jenson. Wait til’ next year when the car & the team will be moulded around him.

Come on! This is MSC, 7 time world champion. Special things will be seen, mark my words.

Autosport’s Mark Hughes summed up the situation perfectly on the BBC F1 site.

@steveninthematrix I am the opposite. His time is well past. He always had a great car and the second driver in his team was his wingman. Schumacher is overrated, even though he is a 7 time champion. Every car can be set to oversteer, he just can not cope with the new generation of drivers. They are fitter, younger and more hungry than him. Schumi, bye bye.

  7. Lesserpawn says:

You can never completely write off Michael Schumacher, but even with next seasons change in front tyres I cannot see him beating Nico. Rosberg is simply too quick.

  8. steveninthematrix says:

    No

    a few factors

the merc is a bad car; i.e. michael likes an over-steery car; but, with the new narrow front tires, this causes him to overdrive the rear tires, and michael near the end of the race is always struggling for rear-end grip

no testing to develop a style to get around this

nico is very very very good and michael would need his a-game to beat him..

with pirelli coming in next year, a lot could change……

u dont win 91 races just because ‘he always had the best car’,

Schumi is pretty disappointing this year. The level of talent on the grid is making him look pretty average
