Do the indy cars or F1 race car use a pedal shifter or a regular stick shifter?

I don’t know i bother me to see these rocket like cars zooming the track and the driver squeezed in to these cars. I mean, it looks as though the isn’t enough space for them to put a regular stick shifting inside of those F1. So if there isn’t room for a stick shifter than that must mean they use a pedal shifter in the side of the steering wheel or am i wrong. Don’t know……….I was just wondering….

    Champ Car and F1 both use wheel-mounted paddle shifters; IndyCar uses a sequential stick mounted on or near the dashboard.
